A Collaborative Process

In advance, we will discuss your goals and how you plan to use the portraits. On the day of the shoot, you can expect a 60-minute session with me that goes something like this: We review your goals once again to make sure we’re both on the same page, I start shooting for a few minutes, I show you the initial pictures, you give me feedback, we make adjustments, change outfits if necessary/desired, and then shoot some more. The first ten minutes is a warm up. Before you know it you'll be feeling comfortable in front of the camera and we'll get some great images!

What to Wear

I recommend wearing something you feel comfortable in and expresses your personality, but that you can look at 5 years from now and not feel embarrassed about wearing. I tell clients to dress in layers or something that can be easily dressed up or down with a scarf, accessories, or an overcoat. Solid mid-tones are usually safest on camera. For the 60-minute shoot, clients can have up to three outfit changes.

Place Matters

Having lived in the city for nearly a decade, I am familiar with the best places to shoot. We can discuss various options in advance and choose a location that is not only beautiful, but also convenient for you. I am also happy to travel anywhere within the Bay Area.

Finished Product

After our shoot, you can expect a zip file with 20+ high-resolution, edited images within three days! All digital enhancements are done using Photoshop CS6 for a natural, professional finish.

Working Together

It is important for me to know a bit about the couples I work with so I can design a unique photography experience that matches their style and expectations. In advance, I would meet with you and your partner to discuss what is most important to you, what you hope to reflect in the photos, and what makes you compatible. If you are unable to meet in advance, I will send you a brief questionnaire to learn more about you.
